Babela Chair

Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni

Italian designers and brothers Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni were frequent collaborators, working together without a clear division of roles, yet constantly exchanging ideas. Designed in 1958 for the Milan Chamber of Commerce, their Babela chair is a perfect example of practicality and aesthetics going hand in hand. These stackable chairs have an institutional air about them, although the contemporary reissue switches the original iron frame to a warmer, more natural ash wood version.
