Costela Armchair

Martin Eisler

Born in Vienna in 1913, Martin Eisler emigrated to Buenos Aires in 1938 and was highly successful in both Argentina and Brazil. Among his most famous pieces are the Reversível and Costela lounge chairs. The Costela is an icon of Brazilian 1950s design, elegant yet informal, with a sensual aesthetic. Built on a metal structure, its wooden ribs embracing both the seat and the back, and resting on metal legs, the lounge chair is easy to dismantle and recycle and thus irresistibly modern. This re-edition is available with a fitting ottoman stool as well as in a variety of coverings.
